Alhamdulillah, I have been invited with a fully funded opportunity by the UNFCCC Regional Collaboration Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RCC Asia Pacific) and the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub to join the 9th Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN) Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
For me, this is not just an invitation to a global forum, but a continuation of a journey that started years ago. Over the last three years, I have traveled to more than 200 locations in 35 districts of Bangladesh, meeting young people, listening to their stories, and learning from their energy and commitment to their communities.
My journey became more purposeful when I became the part of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Youth Network Bangladesh, connecting our local youth voices with a global movement. My time at the Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club (DUEDC) taught me how innovation can inspire change in society.
Being an integral part of YECAP, Movers Program, APYE, YPAT, LCOY, RCOY, Active Citizens, and Project WE has drawn me closer to climate action, giving me the chance to work directly with people and contribute to adaptation and resilience efforts.
I dedicate the honor of carrying the national flag of Bangladesh at this high-level forum to everyone I have worked with, both in Bangladesh and across the world. I am deeply grateful to all the mentors who have guided me throughout this journey.
I am deeply grateful to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh for their immense support in issuing the visa on time.
At the APAN Forum, I hope to emphasize the role of young people in adaptation and resilience, moving beyond advocacy to highlight practical solutions, especially in transforming food systems for a more resilient future.
