An impactful workshop on “Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Good Governance in Public Administration and Public Service” brought together over 50 stakeholders in Chattogram on September 10, 2025. The collaborative initiative between Chattogram Administration and the Committees of Concerned Citizens (CCC) featured distinguished participation from government officials, educators, development practitioners, and civil society leaders.
Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh, led the comprehensive session, addressing critical governance challenges, including corruption’s financial burden on society and the urgent need for institutional reforms. The workshop emphasized practical solutions for achieving good governance while aligning with Bangladesh’s national development commitments.
Participants actively identified corruption-affected sectors and crafted immediate action strategies targeting grassroots issues that directly impact citizens’ access to justice and essential services. The session generated concrete recommendations for eliminating governance deficits through systematic institutional approaches. Additional Divisional Commissioner (Overall) Mohammad Nurullah Nuri concluded with a powerful call for patriotic service, challenging all departments to transform workshop insights into actionable governance improvement plans.
This joint effort represents a commitment to achieving sustainable development through enhanced public service delivery and strengthened institutional integrity in Chattogram.
